Focus on – UPS

This seminar will focus on the various alternatives for powering data center critical servers, routers, etc. while waiting for the standby engine-alternators to come up and take load during a commercial power outage. All commercially available options will be covered, including short ride-throughs of less than 1 minute, to backup times of even greater than 15 minutes. How to size the different backup solutions (especially those technologies newer than traditional lead-acid) will be covered. In addition, there will be a thorough investigation of the differing backup topologies, from centralized vs distributed to AC vs DC.
